New York, NY, July 23, 2008: Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company, Inc., home to the Black Eyed Peas, Quincy Jones, John Legend and Wolfmother, has signed a worldwide administration agreement for Fergie’s chart-topping hit, “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” The 4x platinum song was co-written by Fergie and songwriter Toby Gad, another Cherry Lane writer.

“Big Girls Don’t Cry” was the fourth single from Fergie’s widely successful debut solo album, The Dutchess and received astonishing accolades.  The heartfelt ballad was the most played song of 2007 on U.S. Mainstream Top 40 radio and was the third best selling single of the year topping the Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Pop 100 Airplay, Hot 100 Airplay, and Hot Digital Songs charts.  The song also took home ASCAP’s 2007 “Song of the Year” award.

Richard Stumpf, SVP of Creative & Marketing at Cherry Lane commented: "There are great songs and then there are smash hits – “Big Girls Don’t Cry” is both.  What an honor it is for us at Cherry Lane to be chosen by Fergie and her team to represent this song.  The fact that she wrote this with one of our most prolific writers, Toby Gad, makes it that much more special."

The deal was negotiated by Stumpf and Keith Hauprich, Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs for Cherry Lane and Matt Greenberg of Greenberg Traurig for Fergie.
