A Grammy nominated writer, Steven Dale Jones is best known for his hits “One More Day”, “He Gets That From Me”, and “Ten Thousand Angels”. In Addition to nominations from the CMA and ACM, he has received seven ASCAP awards, including an ASCAP Pop award for his cross-over hit “One More Day”. This number 1 hit was also adapted into a book with the same title, co-authored by Steve.
Growing up around the Muscle Shoals, Alabama music scene, Steve began playing guitar and writing songs by the age of ten. He signed his first publishing contract with Fame Music and Rick Hall after earning a degree in Finance from Auburn University.
As a singer-songwriter, Steve had two songs included on the BMG compilation Names Behind the Artist. He has performed everywhere from the Bitter End in New York City to Turtle Krall’s bar in Key West, and frequently performs in Nashville area venues such as the Bluebird CafĂ©.
Steve has had songs recorded by George Strait, Alabama, Reba McEntire, Josh Turner, Randy Travis, Eddy Arnold, Dobie Gray, Diamond Rio, Kenny Rogers, Jo Dee Messina, Tanya Tucker, Pam Tillis, Trace Adkins, Mindy McCready, Shenandoah, Darryl Worley, Chely Wright, Linda Davis, Stephen Bishop, Engelbert Humperdinck, Lee Greenwood, Ty Herndon, Sammy Kershaw, Doug Stone, and Hot Apple Pie.
Steve lives in Nashville with his wife Allison and has three sons.
